Much of my work represents time, with a juxtaposition of past and present against an abstract or surreal background. Objects are sometimes skewed into a sense of unreality, similar to what one might find in a dream. Colors are deliberately saturated and vivid, with a focus on light, shadow, and complimentary hues. Landscapes are filled with mysterious creatures, colorful balloons, enticing lollies, and strange weather patterns. Groundscapes contain an assemblage of random items that represent memories, mostly of childhood. These scenes appear as they might in a double or triple-exposed photograph. Their randomness is their purpose, and the conclusion is left to the viewer.
